Owners Angela and Nick Xavier
Angela Xavier was born and raised in the city of Kent. She graduated from Kentridge High School on the Kent Easthill and was involved with many sports teams. A lot of her friends called her Red due to the fact that she always wore red shoes. She even wore her red shoes when crowned Miss Kent. Angela was raised by two incredibly hard working parents and three siblings, all of whom still live in the area. Angela is married to Nick, and together they have two young boys.
Angela’s passion for cooking and entertaining began as a child. She loved to make her parent’s breakfast in bed from her cookbook she made in preschool. While other children were outside playing in the sand box, Angela was perfecting her garnish on her “Pear Rabbit.” After, what seems to be a lifetime, of cooking and baking and entertaining for friends, family and colleagues her dream of having her own place to have people come to has been realized with Reds.
Nick Xavier-
Nick also grew up in Kent, Washington. Graduated from Thomas Jefferson H.S. in 1995, and then went on to the University of Washington, where he studied Fisheries. From a very young age Nick worked at his parent’s restaurant, Country Vittles, where he learned the restaurant industry from the bottom up. After meeting his wife Angela, entertaining friends and family became a hobby, and was always something that they truly enjoyed together. Cooking new recipes, having wine tasting at home, and pairing food and wine together became a joy. One evening as Angela came home from an evening out with her girlfriends, (where she waited almost two hours to get into a wine bar) she proclaimed: “I’ve got it! We’re going to open up a wine bar” and that very night the Reds Wine Bar dream started. After 12 months of planning, preparation, and a few headaches, Reds Wine Bar is finally a reality.
